Helping you save water, money and carbon

Here are two scary facts for you...

300 million litres of water gets wasted every day in the UK. Each year, this staggering volume would fill 219 trillion 50cl water bottles - enough to blanket both the UK and Ireland in neat rows of plastic.
This tiny hole cost a CRAZY
£153,000 per year
for FOUR years!!!!
On average, leaks take 6.25 years to notice. (We've even seen 18 years at a North London primary school). So stack another six layers of bottles on top to see the whole horrifying picture of how much water we waste in this country.

That's just leakage and wastage that goes on after the meter. Unbelievably, it's all paid for by consumers - to the tune of £328.5m per year! Who knows, you may be contributing yourself.

Water companies are massive energy users. Treating and pumping all this water, just for it to be wasted, releases 27,375 tonnes of CO2e each year. It's akin to the emissions of 11,838 petrol cars.

How do we help?

The aim of Hydrocura Water Conservation is two-fold:

  1. Help people like you reduce customer side leakage and wastage by 25% (75 million litres per day) in the UK.
  2. Give people like you easy to use tools, so you can monitor and control your water use. That way, when leaks inevitably break out, you'll spot them within weeks - not the average six & a quarter years.

You will save water, money and carbon, whilst protecting this precious resource for your children.

What you get from Hydrocura that no-one else can offer you

"With demand for water predicted to outstrip supply by 40% by 2030, now is the time to eliminate unnecessary water and energy wastage. Teccura's Complex Consumption Analysis is a strong example of the kind of innovative thinking needed to resolve this huge challenge."

These words were written after the judges awarded us the prestigious Guardian Sustainable Business Award. They were blown away by this "fantastic example of how to achieve a significant impact with a good idea."

What differentiates us from the rest is: we already know how much water you should use.

Our award-winning database holds a precise calculation of water use for 613,670 non-domestic properties in the UK.

If your property consumes more than 4,000 litres per day, chances are you're in there. We don't require any data from you such as a list of sites or annual turnover figures. So there's no extra work for you.

Real data inputs and deterministic modelling give a level of accuracy that a crude benchmark cannot. And that will find you leaks you thought were genuine water use.

By comparing our precise calculation to how much water is going through your meter(s), we know how much water you can save.

This was the concept that blew away The Guardian judges. They said:

"Applying clever mathematics and sophisticated consumption analysis, Teccura takes a scientific approach to the detection of water leaks. Its Complex Consumption Analysis (CCA) software, thought to be the most advanced of its kind, accurately maps utility usage by investigating – in minute detail – the facilities in operation, the demand placed on them and how each facility consumes water or energy."
